Another beautiful day in Pennsylvania!
A busy morning at the canner site
with many wonderful volunteers. Thanks
to all of you for caring about us, I am feeling
much better, but we are both fighting with this
cough. We are so thankful to be back to work again!
It is great having the canner guys here in our home with us. They are the best!!! :)
Elizabeth (in Missouri) do you recognize a former
student of yours? What a guy, he has been
begging for moon pies ever since I came back!!! :)

Wanda,
I figured it out! Thanks for emailing me back....and that was my sister, Gladys! She is talking to, I think, Mr. Logan. I was a student at the school where he taught.(EJ) Is that what you meant? Was I to recognize anyone else on the pictures? It's not as easy with the "canning garb". By the way, I forgot to personally THANK YOU for the picture we have of Papa in his "snowman suit" as we called it. Gladys printed it off and he had it on his dresser the last days he was with us. He looked so happy with the steel in one hand and sharpening a knife with the other. A common childhood memory of butchering days for me. Looking forward to hearing and reading more about this week. In answer to your question....Versailes is about 1 hour from us. I wish I'd have known. We'll have to remember for next year. God Bless you. Love, Elizabeth (Some folks know me as Betsy back there!)
It's me again!-- Wondering how canning is going in the hills and valley of Belleville. My brother, Dan, was to be at the meat canning today. Thanks for sharing the pictures on the blog....it's nice to look at them and see if there any familar faces. I've been gone from the Juniata area since 1983, so there are not many that I know around Belleville but sometimes there are some that go up from my home area to help. Praying God's blessing on the work that is being done. That His Love can be shown through this act of kindness to all who receive. Love, Elizabeth
Loren & Wanda,
It was so good to be with you both at the mountaintop home of Ken and Betty Hartzler. Big Valley missed you. The excellent photos and daily diary you shared with us is a treasure for you and all you commune with. Thank you both for all the goodwill you have given the folks in the many communities where the canner went. We pray for your continued safety and wish you vitality and strength as you continue your ministry!!
